Selection Process for the CSIR Indian Institute of Toxicology Recruitment for

1. Written Test- This test consists of three papers that are compulsory for all candidates to
pass. This is a common computer based test consisting of 200 multiple choice
questions. Written tests paper I that is a mental ability test consist of 50 questions each
carrying 2 marks each. Duration of the Exam will be 1 hour with no negative marking.
Written test paper II will be of general awareness and english language test with 25+25
questions each carrying 3 marks with only a time duration of 30 minutes.
Then the last paper is paper III of the concerned subject with 100 questions carrying 3 marks each and
a time duration of 90 minutes. This test is done to check the candidate’s general
knowledge and aptitude. There is also a negative marking which is different for every
incorrect answer in a different paper. All Candidates are required to score a minimum of
50% marks in written tests. Candidates who fail to secure 50% marks will be disqualified.
2. Document Verification- After written tests, all candidates who have passed with more
than 50% will be asked to show their original documents that are shown while applying
for the online application form. All the Educational certificates and other related
documents then got verified by the concerned university or authority.
3. Personal Interview- Candidates who have successfully passed the initial written test
with all three papers and documentation verification are usually notified for their personal
interview. This notification includes date, time and venue for the face to face meeting.
The interview questions cover a wide range of topics that includes knowledge of subject
and communication skills and interpersonal skills.
